I think The White Stripes were a fantastic band and quite unmistakable. This album is a cracker with a variety of raw, blues rock on offer from quiet to tempestuous. Hard to believe it's just 2 people and largely drums and guitar.

Many previous White Stripes releases on vinyl had not been great in terms of pressing and sound quality, but the latest White Stripes, 20th anniversary reissues seem to have been approached with far greater care and pride and it really shows. As such I consider them essential for any true White Stripes fans.

The vinyl is flat and heavy and plays with minimal surface noise. Apparently, they were mastered from the original analogue tapes and the sound is clearly better than before, with more detail and transparency, rather than flat and somewhat veiled. The jackets are much better too, with proper tip-on style with immaculate artwork reproduction and there is even a proper poly-lined inner sleeve, instead of the crappy, dusty paper ones.

The bonus is these discs are very sensibly priced.
