Excellent battery life, beautiful construction, a display with beautiful colours, fast with ARM64 CPU. I just got the base model and this really is a machine that won't disappoint. I mostly use mine for coding applications. I was able to find all the software I needed for the ARM / Apple Silicon CPU architecture, or if I could not I was able to run the Intel version with Rosetta.
It's robust and durable, really as usual with Apple - this device is the pinnacle of design - a beautiful integration of hardware and software. Certainly beats the absolute hell out of those awful plastic Windows-based laptops.
macOS inherits its speed and robustness from BSD based UNIX and Apple has crafted a UI and UX that is consistent and beautiful. Windows feels more like a disgusting mix of binaries and UIs in a few directories, slapped together without taste or a thought for consistency.
