I purchased a Soundbar 500 for my office and it was a bit of a letdown by itself.. But i had read somewhere that adding the Bass-Module takes it to a whole new level.
I came across this bigger Module 700 and it was discounted almost AUD$300, and i could return it if need be... so i went for it..
It really changed the sound in my office! When the Soundbar 500 isn't trying to deliver bass (bc the Bass-Module-700 takes on that role) it sounds worlds better! And also the Module-700 seems to fill in the sound, its pretty amazing in my small office! Tempted to move to loungeroom to try with movie and bigger room....
While i don't like that i spent way more than i wanted (over AUD$1,100 [even with discounts!!]) by getting both Bass-Module 700 and Soundbar-500, it's not a letdown with the set.
Though if your buying quality speakers for office i would instead recommend - LG SP8YA 3.1.2 Channel 440W with Meridian & Dolby Atmos Soundbar. (AUD$849 at Jbhifi or LG.com, but regularly drops below $800 on Jbhifi website)
Comes with Bass Module included! & ATMOS & DTS:X capability! If i could click my fingers and have it instead of this waayyy overpriced BOSE set, i probably would.
Though it would be easier to return my Soundbar-500 before the 90 day return policy ends, and ask BOSE customer service for a discount on the new Soundbar-900, which has up-firing speakers so it is ATMOS capable. While it would be overkill for my office, it would mean it could be a loungeroom cinema backup or high end sound for different room in future.
ps. I got the bigger more boomy module-700 instead of matching module-500 because i looove Bass, and the materials are waay more premium looking/feeling.
