You may have seen some reviewers saying that this doesn't work with their high refresh rate displays. I can tell you that this is incorrect, and - barring legitimately faulty devices - this switch can definitely operate as advertised. It's just that to run it at the very edge of spec you will almost certainly need to purchase a specific kind of DisplayPort cables to go with it.To provide some details on my setup in advance: - Output device: RTX 3080 graphics card - Input device 1: Acer Predator X34P monitor (1440p Ultrawide / 3440x1440@120hz) - Input device 2: Philips 558M1RY/75 (4K / 3840x2160@120hz).These are both in the class of screens for which other reviewers have reported issues. When I first set up the switch, I encountered unusual behaviour. The more demanding 4k monitor ran mostly fine but had infrequent bursts of static, while the slightly less demanding 1440p ultrawide became totally unusable. The screen would constantly lose and find the signal again over and over, causing it to blink on and off.The cables I was using at the time were specially purchased Dynamix Displayport 1.4 cables that had previously been working satisfactorily for these displays. After some digging through other reviews for this switch I found that the single biggest factors causing issues are interference from other cables, and the length and quality of the cables used. Not all DisplayPort cables are made equal. Quite frequently the default ones bundled with your display may not even meet the minimums of the specification if they were put through a tester. And If you go and buy ones from the store, they still might not be actually certified cables. Here is what you need to make sure this switch will operate correctly right up to the edge of spec: - The total cable length to either monitor must not exceed 10 feet / 3 meters. (I have a 1 meter cable from the output to the switch, and then 2 meter cables from the switch to each display) - All three cables MUST BE a minimum of DisplayPort version 1.4. - You should specially purchase your cables. To be safe, I recommend purchasing DisplayPort Certified cables, but understand that can be quite expensive. - If your cables will be in close proximity to other cables, seek out a brand which advertises additional layers of shielding. - If you have a large number of USB peripherals coming out of your computer then your motherboard/laptop may struggle to deliver the power the switch requires. Try plugging it into a USB charging port on a multi-board, or USB type A wall charger. When meeting all the above requirements I can confirm this switch works flawlessly and I highly recommend it, especially for this price.A few final notes:The build quality is good, with a sturdy metal housing. The indicator lights are unnecessarily bright, so I suggest putting a bit of masking tape over them. They're so bright they'll likely still be visible through whatever you cover them with, but will no longer light up a whole room at night.Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase and it fulfils my needs perfectly.

I recently acquired the DisplayPort Adapter, and it has proven to be a reliable and effective addition to my setup.

What I appreciate most about this adapter is its dependability. I've used it to connect my devices to various displays, and it has consistently delivered a stable connection without any signal loss or disruptions.

The switch box is very sturdy for the price. I had issues with the box not working with my desktop but after a friendly chat with the supplier, then troubleshooting the issue over a few days I found my issue: My RTX 2080S based desktop couldn't detect the monitor when I used a 5M display cable with this switch. As soon as I swapped out to a shorter cable I had no issues. Im assuming its a voltage/signal drop issue as is common with long cables.
So now its working perfectly and is a great help in swapping between my work laptop and gaming rig when working from home.

Doesn't work as expected - should have guessed for the price. My best guess of why this fails is that it completely powers off the un-selected source so each time there's an input switch, it's as if the display was unplugged, then plugged back in. Windows then tries to identify the hardware change and adjust the display settings.
I tried working with 2 monitors and using this switch to share the second monitor with another PC, Windows treated each input switch action as a hardware change and the screen turned off/on several times on one PC, also impacting the non-shared display. On my second PC (with 3rd party hardware monitoring), the screen was continually turning off/on and not usable. Alas, I was really hoping this item would be more like the input switches build into the display.

As someone who has two apple laptops (one personal and one provided by my employer) I've constantly been looking for ways to connect them up to my Dell P2715Q which I use with my desktop PC. Since the P2715Q only has a single DisplayPort (used by the PC) and a single HDMI part which doesn't support 60hz, the only way to connect a laptop in the past would have been to disconnect the cable from the PC and reconnect it to my laptop which was super inconvenient.

I pretty much accepted hat I'd never be able to solve that issue until I got a new monitor until I stumbled across this switcher, and after doing my research on whether it would work or not (all signs pointed to probably) I decided to give it a chance. You can imagine my happiness when I got it all hooked up and was able to seamlessly switch my monitor between my laptop and PC with just the click of a button. It's made working from home so much easier and I genuinely regret not finding this product years ago.

The only thing I can fault is that occasionally when my laptop has been plugged in for a while and goes to sleep, the switcher will cause the monitor to flicker after the laptop is woken up. This is rare though, and when it does happen it can be fixed in seconds by quickly toggling the switch to the PC input and then back to the laptop.

It turns out you need the highest quality DisplayPort 1.2 8K cables for this unit to work with 1440p at 144Hz. I only still gave this unit 3/5 stars, since they don't tell you which cables you need for this to work for gaming.

False advertizing, I'm very surprized they're still selling this product. If you're after a displayport switch for high hz gaming, this is not the one. The max hz I got was at 1080p, 85hz or 1440p, 60hz. Any other frequency higher that those and you will get black screen flickering every half a minute or so. Avoid this for both the false advertizing and the fact that the unit doesn't do what it says it will do.

You need 3 hdmi cables. 1 hdmi cable plugs into the device OUT and plugs into the one monitor you choose to share. Two hdmi cables plug in to the device IN, 1 from each pc. THEN you press the button on the device and it toggles the display from pc1 to pc2. Press device button again and it toggles the display from pc2 to pc1, and so on. Works perfectly. Note: the device needs power so the device comes with a usb cable that you plug in to an open usb port on your pc to power the device. Works great. I recommend.

Using it to switch Display input to my sim racing rig, works very well. Using it for my sim racing rig so I can switch from main PC to the ultrawide setup on my sim rig. Just be sure to use a active displayport cable or a good repeater / extension cable if going for longer length and the cables support the resolution / refresh rates.

My setup uses a 25ft displayport from PC to Switch and no issue or flickering - getting 144hz on both monitors as well.
One 6 feet cable going to the ultrawide on my sim rig,
Another output with a 16 feet active displayport extension cable w/ 10ft displayport cable to my main PC monitor, no issue as well.

Also make sure power source is strong enough, didn't work when I plug into my USB 3.0 Hub, had to use a USB power adapter for it.

This was a good buy. I was a bit weary because display connections and the associated cable and signal properties can be pretty finicky at times, especially with powered equipment such as this. However, it works perfectly and switches back and forth as advertised, even providing me with the 144Hz my gaming rig outputs. Makes life just a bit easier, in stead of swapping inputs on the backside of the screen, I can now just press a button to switch display input, and another button to switch my mouse and keyboard back and forth as well (which is, of course, another device)
