Giving the tablet to my cat was so easy and he loves it to every bit. I could just break itno half and feed my cat directly.

Lots of good reviews but sadly my cat said no. The tablets smelt 'old' and unpleasant (no chicken smell) and there was a lot of loose powder like it had been shaken to bits.

I think the manufacturer have changed the formula or maybe the ingredients IDK. My cats refused to eat it. They just smell it and then walk away. They used to love this product and I have been buying since last year.

My girl Pepper has always been my feisty angel. Over the last two years I have noticed her behaviour descend into what I can only describe as kitty-depression (I'm fully serious). Every time she would go into the vet they'd say she had a stomach full of hair. No wonder she was in such a bad mood all the time, she was likely in a lot of discomfort. No hairball medication or treatment was working to fix the problem or her mood.

I tried this product because of the reviews, I started by breaking up the pill and mixing it with her food. She would NEVER eat it! Wouldnt even touch it if I mixed the pill in with wet food. One day I put the pill on the counter before mixing up the wet food and I noticed she had a huge interest in it, like it must have smelled really good. And she was trying to eat it just like that! So I broke it into pieces and she gobbled it all up!

Let me tell you, the effect its had on her has made me so grateful. It's clearly working because her mood has changed drastically and she is a happy go lucky kitty again. She is 12 years old and as playful as a kitten again. She seems much happier and I know it's because shes no longer in pain from having the hair build up in her stomach. It makes me really emotional to think about because for two years I tried do hard to help her while watching my baby get sadder and sadder. And people told me i was just projecting human emotions onto her but i know my cat and i know she wasnt feeling good. This product actually works, I gave it to her twice a day for a week and now we only do once a day and she is still doing fabulous. Pepper has her spirit back and I couldn't be more grateful 🙏💕

After usually coming across a hairball every couple of weeks or so, usually by stepping in it- I can honestly say it has almost eliminated them altogether. Since starting these 6 months ago we’ve found maybe 2-3. And none the last couple of months!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm amazed

I am amazed, because my cat will actually eat these willingly. I stumbled upon these by accident when I was in the store looking for another possible remedy for my cat's hairball issue. I have four cats, and three of them would be more than happy to take the standard Petromalt, but the cat with the longest hair who also grooms all of the other cats won't touch the stuff. I tried the other flavors, putting it on a spoon, on my finger, on his paw, in his food, in chicken, in tuna, you name it. I brush the cats at least twice a day, but I still ended up having to take him to the vet twice for hairball issues, which resulted in surgery the second time. Anyway, I explained my dilemma to the guy in the store, and he said to try these pills. I was doubtful, because the pills are huge, and they don't have any particular odor that would seem to attract a kitty. I took one out, broke it into quarters, and my problem child ate it and seemed to want more. Unbelievable. This dry, chalky, seemingly tasteless hairball remedy is the new "kitty crack." I showed my vet, just to make sure it was okay to give my cats this on a regular basis, and he said it's fine. End of problem. I give them each one at breakfast and at dinner, and while they all eat the pill quarters before any of their food, my big hairy problem child follows me to the cupboard and waits expectantly for his. I don't get it, but it works and he likes it. It has been many months now since there have been hairball issues in this household, and my only wish would be that they place this item on Subscribe and Save.

9/23/12 UPDATE: It has been over a year since I started feeding these to my four cats, plus, as I said in my previous review, my mom and my brother are also giving them to their cats. For anyone who is interested, none of the cats have had any hairball incidents since we started using these. I break each pill into quarters and put them on top of their food, morning and evening. If I realize I don't have enough pills and have to run upstairs for a new bottle, they follow me, because they know they are missing the treat from their food. It's really pretty funny. Also, I wanted to comment about some reviews I read that the pills changed, and that different lots were thicker and harder to break up. I have noticed that I occasionally get a pill that is thicker, but I never gave it much thought because it hasn't been a problem. For me, there may be two or three tougher ones in a bottle--it has never been all of them, so it doesn't seem like they changed the formula or anything like that. If I get a tough one, I generally can still break it, but if not, I just use a knife. That is a rare event, and the cats eat them, either way. I would love for these to go on Subscribe and Save, but even if they never do, I will buy them, because I have not found anything even close to these as far as being completely effective in the elimination of hairballs, as well as being so easy to use, because the kitties regard them as a treat.
