This is not a hard shell kayak. If you need to go into the wild with strong currents and cut through waves, you probably already know that this inflatable (or any inflatable) kayak isn’t for that purpose.
With that aside, this kayak travels great in slow current water and I’ve even taken it for a spin on ocean waters with decent currents. On relatively still waters, it drives good. The fin below the kayak (included) keeps it straight and gives good traction on the water. You can expect to drive at about 10-15 km/hr speed with medium to decent rowing intensity. The included hand pump displaces good amount of air into the kayak so you don’t really need to buy an air pump. Oars are sturdy and feel strong in hand.
If two people are rowing this, make sure that your seats are separated by as much as possible or your oars might collide while rowing. That being said, people with tall bodies (about > 5’11”) might find it slightly hard to get in, although no issues with keeping legs straight. Good space for carrying small items too. Expect to get some water in the kayak as water drips from the oars as you row on yourself as well as the kayak.
Love the kayak and anyone on a budget looking for a two person kayak should avoid the more cheaper ones and get this one instead. Thanks intex!
