Excellent quality given price point.
On the whole, a pretty good keyboard with excellent RGB. PLEASE NOTE that the attached photo is with different keycaps than came with the keyboard.BODY / ALUMINIUM CHASSE: Design quality is mostly excellent. Only qualm I had was that the switches are VERY firmly embedded in their sockets, and that it is easy to scratch the aluminium board with the switch puller in an attempt to take them out / replace them with other types. Occasional ping, but generally not a problem to my uncultured ear.SWITCHES: I was honestly slightly disappointed by how non-tactile the browns felt. Imo, the blues (if you can stand the noise) offer a much more satisfactory feedback. These brown switches, while you can feel the tactility if you type slowly, feel practically like scratchy reds if you are a forceful typer or even a fast one. Notably, the hot-swappable feature only applies to other Outemu switches, but this restriction is acknowledged on the page so I can't really fault them for that.KEYCAPS: for ABS, they had a nice texture and took a decent while to "shine up". Work nicely with a slightly thocky sound. RGB looks nice with them, but I ended up changing mine because I enjoyed the colour scheme more.RGB SOFTWARE: Nothing spectacular but it works and I found it to be pretty easy to understand.Overall, this is an excellent starter mechanical keyboard. I'd recommend the tactility of blues over browns, unless you are in an office space (in which case the browns are the much less annoying choice).

I bought this keyboard about a 2 months ago and it's great! It's primary use is for standard PC operation when working which it is great for. The brown switches feel great when typing and the sound is much quieter than my old blue switch keyboard.

I don't play around with the RGB lighting too much (I have set mine to all white) but the software is very easy to use so you can customise things to you personal preference.

Overall I don't think you can find a better, more reliable keyboard for this price.

Get it. You won't be dissappointed.

I opt for this instead of the more expensive ones because this is my first time buying a mechanical keyboard. I would say that I am satisfied with it. It feels premium and the experience is great.

The quality is just exceptional. Overall feels and looks very nice. I did not expect the Outemu switches will be so good. Tecware please do not stack on Outemu switches only or your special ones. People will love to have a Gateron or Kailh switches with your keyboard.

Me encanto el teclado. Te tardas un poco para acostumbrarte a escribir en el, pero escribes con mejor postura y las teclas son mucho más agradables que un teclado "normal" y no tan duras para apretar. Recomendado si estas tratando de ahorrar.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a real keyboard! Definitely not a mushy keyboard.
Reviewed in the United States on 16 July 2019
Colour: BlueVerified Purchase
If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard that mimics a *real* keyboard like the IBM model M (the 5lb beast from the mid-80s, sold with the IBM PC XT and AT), get this keyboard with the BLUE switches. If you learned to type on an IBM Selectric typewriter way back in the day, get this keyboard with the BLUE switches.

If you're looking for a gaming keyboard, do NOT get the BLUE switches (if you do, you won't be happy).

My 35yr old IBM PC XT keyboard died. I didn't hold a funeral for it, but was seriously considering it. It was loud, It was heavy, it had more steel in it than my tower PC, and it worked flawlessly for 30+ years. All other keyboards felt like I was typing on a sponge; they had no "click" and the keys just "slid" down until they hit bottom. I *needed* the audible click and the tactile feedback because without those two features, it wasn't a real keyboard..

The BLUE OutEmu switches used in this keyboard aren't the same as the original IBM keyboard switches, but they're fairly close. Importantly, they've got the audible click and the tactile feel of the click mechanism makes it feel like a real keyboard. The springs aren't as strong as the original, but they're very close (mind you that my IBM keyboard is 35 yrs old so the switches are a tad bit worn).

The lighting is very cool, but wasn't something I specifically was looking for. Price was a big factor; I can buy a replacement from Unicomp for about $100 but this keyboard is half as much. For some reason, inferior mechanical keyboard can go up to $300 or more which I find absurd. This keyboard for $50 is a heck of a value and has features that more expensive keyboard (still) don't have.

Not only are the keycaps replaceable, but individual switches are replaceable. If you have a bad key switch, on most mechanical keyboard it's time for a new keyboard or you need to break out the soldering iron to repair it yourself. There are much more expensive mechanical keyboard where switches are not replaceable.

If you choose to use their software, you can program the color of each key individually. This isn't a feature I care about; I bought it for it's price and BLUE switches. For games this can be handy, you can assign arbitrary colors to shortcut keys for the game. Even without the software, there are 15 or 16 keyboard color patterns you can trigger, use rainbow colors or a single fixed color with the built in patterns, as well as control brightness, pattern speed, and pattern direction.

Pros (BLUE switches):
$50 mechanical keyboard
BLUE switches are very close to the (worn) IBM keyboard I replaced
Switches are user replaceable
It's loud, it's heavy, it's clickly -- it's perfect for me
Comes with extra switches, switch puller, and keycap puller

Con:
Haven't found one.

Warnings:
If you've never had a *real* keyboard that's clicky, you have no idea how loud a clicky mechanical keyboard can be.
After you've used a clicky keyboard for a while, you will not want to ever go back to using a mushy keyboard.

A note on switches:
Cherry MX is considered the premier brand of switches for mechanical keyboard. OutEmu is a different brand. For the price of 104 Cherry MX switches, I can buy a Unicomp keyboard (google it). BLUE switches are great for typing but not so great for gaming; BROWN or RED switches may be more appropriate for FPS gamers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbeatable budget mechanical keyboard with semi-lackluster keycap construction
Reviewed in the United States on 18 October 2022
Colour: BlueVerified Purchase
Overall: There isn't a better entry-level mechanical keyboard on the market. If you're considering upgrading from your traditional keyboard, this is the best budget replacement available. Regardless of some of the cons that I mention below, I still gave it 5 stars because it's only $40 at the end of the day. It's going to underperform in some departments. And the cons that I experienced are all minor, easily repairable things.

I've used this keyboard everyday for 2 years. For gaming, general web browsing, typing lots of long Reddit posts, Excel & Word, etc. I have the blue switches. They're not the same as high-end brand name mechanical keyboards with CherryMX switches, but the Outemu switches are more than adequate. Never experienced any issues with them, and if this is your first mechanical keyboard then you won't even know the difference anyways. The keys are substantially clicky and contribute to exactly how a mechanical keyboard should feel. LEDs are bright, lots of color options and cool illumination patterns to choose from. After 2 years of regular use the finish of the keys hasn’t worn at all. There's no discoloration anywhere on the keyboard; it looks the same as it did on day 1. It's also hefty and feels to be built well.

There are 2-3 potential drawbacks worth mentioning:
1) The fonts on the keycaps are unorthodox. They take some time getting used to if you sit there and stare at them. Some characters look a bit weird. After about a month you get used to it though
2) After about 1.5 years of normal use, the "Enter" keycap broke. The little "+" shaped plastic pieces molded on the underside of the keycap broke (see photo), causing the key to wobble and not stay mounted on the switch.
3) One of the angled feet on the underside of the keyboard broke. This was most likely my fault, as I accidentally left the foot flipped in its outward position while throwing the keyboard in a plastic bag and transporting it. The foot probably would have broken on any other higher quality keyboard.
