Though it does not work with google home integration as advertised, and the reception may be poor, or sometimes refuse to work, it is usable when configured correctly with Alexa integration most of the time. Not perfect but usable.

These buttons really do fill a gap and when they work they do it well.

However ... they were incredibly frustrating to set up and even the instructions in the video were hard to follow. That said, if you show enough patience and perseverance you'll get there. But really, it shouldn't be that hard.

Then when they are working they do it well. The overall look of the button is simple and clean. I suspect they might get dirty over time as the plastic has a texture but I'm sure a wipe down might do the trick. The button click itself feels cheap and they sound cheap. I can look past this as they were priced well and fill a gap.

Don't buy them until this issue is fixed ...

My Biggest frustration is their reliability. I have had them setup for a week now and twice in that time they have completely dropped out. The button still talks to the hub and therefore the app - however, the signal does not reach Alexa. I have not found any way to get them rolling again. However, they seem to come back on an hour or two later.

This needs to be fixed because they are next to useless when they are unreliable and if it does not get fixed in the next month I'll send them back.

Bought these after seeing videos online with positive responses thinking “she’ll be right, should be reliable”, NOPE. Connecting it up and setting up routines is really not too complicated. Its a straight forward protocol as far as I’m concerned, but where it goes wrong is staying online. Either the hub or the switches will go offline within minutes in my experience and that’s pretty disappointing. I first bought two, was super satisfied and bought more, then a day later they all stopped working. No troubleshooting method worked. Occasionally pressing a button twenty times woke it up again but this was a waste of what is now an odd $160.. I hope they stop scamming people.

Integrating with other systems is hard and sometimes impossible. I did integrate it with Alexa but it stopped working after a few days. Not sure what happened, but I did integrate it with Google Home simultaneously and maybe that broke it. I removed the buttons from Alexa and GH and reconnected to Alexa, and it started to work again. Had to re-attach and re-enable Alexa routines (I use them to turn some smart lights ON and OFF). They are utterly useless in Google Home and I couldn't detect them in Home Assistant. With Alexa, there is 2 to 5 seconds delay for routines to take effect (changes from time to time). I do not have other broadlink items so I am not sure how it performs within it's own app. Also, Alexa still tries to use the obsolete app when trying to setup for the first time. I believe there should be better options. I might give IKEA Tradfri a try as an alternative. I have heard they work fine with Home assistant.

Handy device with 4 buttons presently using 2 off the buttons for turning A/C on n off but as its only used when days are hot enough , it seems to need waking from sleep as it takes lots of presses to work and then there are the times it works as it should.

Had these for about a year now, they very often lose connection and I either have to press the buttons each about 10 times for them to work or reset the hub and do the same until they trigger a routine :/

They're laggy as and there's next to no integration with other services, namely home assistant. Paired with Alexa there's still a huge delay but sometimes doesnt even trigger as it loses connection to the hub, which makes it pointless.

If I could give zero stars...

Save yourself the headache and don't buy this OR the S3 hub.

Bad pairing with alexa. Looses connection

It actually works pretty well with Alexa - but unable to add the device to Home Assistant.
The hub is rather small which is convenient. I did ran into problems when the smart button stopped responding, despite hub showing them online. I had to pair them again with the hub using the QR code, and re-enable my routines in Alexa. I then discovered via the broadlink app help that it's highly suggested to define a fixed channel for your 2.4g WIFI - if you remain in AUTO channel, each time the channel changes, the buttons get disconnected (there's a technical explanation to this within the broadlink app help). I thought to share this here as this really helped me to stabilize the connection of the smart buttons.

Love these button panels for adding the convenient ability to control your home automation with a touch of your finger instead of talking to Alexa and they work great with Alexa routines and they respond faster than voice commands.

Initially, I bought one of these smart buttons with the hub as a kit just to try it out. I did run into minor issues when connecting the hub to my BroadLink account, but it was nothing major as I resolved it in a few minutes by resetting it. The smart button was pretty easy to pair with the hub, but I did have to have Alexa discover new devices before the button registered a click to Alexa even after enabling the BroadLink skill.

Like the other reviewers said, Alexa sees the unit as four motion detectors. But all you have to do when creating a routine is to set it to when the button detects motion. At the time of this review, each of the four buttons only serve one action. No double clicks, no long presses; only a single click. In order to turn on and off a light, you will need two separate routines, which will require two of the four buttons. But at this price range, I think that is still acceptable.

I actually liked this smart button so much, I bought 5 more for various smart home devices around my home and labeled each button. Although they do trigger the routine, it does sometimes take 2-5 seconds before the routine triggers. I can live with that delay, but you may want to look at a quicker alternative if you need the quick routine response.

I haven’t noticed any of my six smart buttons going into “sleep” mode. I’ve left several buttons untouched for days, and when I press a button, the routine still triggers. So far I haven’t had any major problems with these smart switches but they seem to work well for what I paid for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product. Finally a way to control Alexa Routines.
Reviewed in Canada on 26 February 2022

For reference I have both Alexa and Google connected to my home. I use Alexa to control smart devices, it's better than Google, and we use Google to answer and respond to questions, it's smarter than Alexa. I have over 50 smart devices, bulbs are a mix of Hue and Wyze, cameras are Wyze, smart plus Wyze, and a couple of Meross light switches. Most of not all devices are on a dedicated 2.4g router. I have an old router fixed to 2.4g. this way I have no switching or dropping issues.

The hub connected quickly and in a standard process, setup app (in Canada it was the Broadlink universal remote app on Android) find the hub wifi, set to my 2.4g network and it was done. 3 minutes at most. The for the switch select scan QR code option in the pulldown menu, scan and it'll all you'll to confirm the switch, another 3 minutes and your done. If the switch isn't flashing to connect, hold the reset button until it starts flashing. It'll then connect.

Next select the switch and rename your buttons, Alexa will display these names so name then to match your routine i.e. all light on, etc.

In the app select Me or account, your should see Add Voice Recognition, select then select Alexa, this will connect the hub with your Alexa.

Then setup routines in Alexa. Select When This Happens, in this case it thinks the switch is a motion sensor, just select you'll see the button names your renowned earlier, select then when motion is detected, then whatever action you'll want from the smart homes devices. Save and your done.

So far this is working perfect, I'll update if I run into the same signal dropping issues mentioned in the other posts. But having the 2.4g network helps.

1.0 out of 5 stars El peor dispositivo de domótica que he tenido.
Reviewed in Spain on 15 October 2023
