This is a truly great kit. The instructions are easy to follow, the pieces are easy to identify, and the package is nice and appealing - that last part is important, because you know that you want it to appeal to your students or other young learners.
We just built AVA yesterday, and had her walk around. The kids really enjoyed controlling her. We are very excited to finish the rest of the robots.
I have worked with hundreds of STEM kits from various companies, and let me tell you, this one is top-of-the-line. Now, ideally, it would be best to have a separate kit for each student. That's because there's only one battery pack. You're still getting a great value for this kit - in fact, I've seen many more expensive that pack much less entertainment and learning value - but the point is, you can do one with a small group, but your students are going to want to build their own at some point.
The kit is awesome. I have few complaints. The only minor one is that some of the wooden pieces had to be bent, and didn't fit perfectly at first. Then again, troubleshooting is part of the engineering design process, and thus STEM as well.
This is a great kit. The robots are cool, and fun to play with. This is one of my favorites, and I'm going to try to convince our little school to load up on these.
