Studies show that learning through play is an important part of a child's development. Ensuring enough play time for your child is a great benefit for your family to allow your child to release extra energy, but even in infancy, your child begins to find out who he is through play. Even in the early stages of development, children's minds expand simply by looking at their environment and capturing their surroundings.

Math is everywhere!

Mathematics plays a major role in children's development and helps them understand the world around them. Children aged 1-5 are beginning to explore patterns and shapes, compare sizes, and count objects.

Parents can also use numbers and astronauts to introduce your children to subtraction.

Parents and educators play an important role in influencing children and becoming role models by providing them with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. Adults need to be able to direct their play and support them by enhancing or extending their play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for early math learning!

The number weights can be slightly off if you use more than 2 at a time, but otherwise this thing is pretty awesome! My 2 year old has had no issues with trying to eat the spacemen, and is obsessed with putting them in a row to count them. Not sure if it was just a quality control issue or if they forgot to update their listing, but we actually got 20 spacemen in our set. We also figured out that frosting cups fit perfectly on each side of the scale perfectly, and can be used to store all of the small pieces with the scale platforms fitting as lids. This absolutely exceeded my expectations. We put all of the cards away to use once he's a little bigger, but the scale has withstood our 2 year old tossing it around so far.
