Within 2 weeks after purchase, monitor started adjusting it's brightness and volume levels by itself.
Called Philips and was asked to call the company I bought it from. Called the company and was asked to return for assessment. Hauled the 49" monitor back to company. A week later I was told no issues found.
I took the monitor back and immediately realised the issues are still there. Bloody thing kept adjust itself and what's more now it was turning itself off too.
Called them back again and this time I was asked to tape up the IR receiver area with electrical or duct tape and test again. So I did. Still the same. Monitor kept on adjusting and turning off itself as it pleased.
Was asked to take videos so I did.
Was asked to change the location of the monitor, use it in a different room, turn off the room lights etc...
Seriously, WTF!
I paid $1,699 for this piece of junk and they make me jump through hoops not to take it back.
I took 3 videos of the issue happening and they still won't take it back.
Today I returned it back again, now they'll asses again and check if I taped it up properly. I did tape it up just fine but why the hell on earth do I need to tape up a brand new monitor to start with or do any of those things?
Do yourself a favour, go get an LG or Samsung or anything. Just not this junk because they sure are making it as hard as possible to take it back when it doesn't work.
Now I'm waiting for the assessment again and if they say the monitor is fine one more time, I'll call an ombudsman to step in and take legal action.
I know my rights and on this occasion, they have none.

*** An Excellent Monitor ***

**POSITIVE**

* PBP (Picture by Picture) function separates the screen in half displaying output from two different source devices simultaneously on the left and right sides of the screen.
* KVM with Auto(Based on the input selected) and manual selection
* Type C Hub with Charging - I've tried with Dell Latitude and MacBook and it works fine, though my Dell latitude has a normal laptop charger.
* FHD Web Camera with Windows Hello(Facial Recognition) feature works seamlessly

**NEGATVE**

* I've received a monitor with Country of Origin as Australia, I've checked with Philips India Customer Care and they have confirmed on the warranty status and it is valid for 3yrs in India.
* As it is an Australian manufactured Monitor, it comes with Australian specific Plug, however it works in universal voltage, moreover you have to get an adapter to plug into the normal sockets in India,
* I've received only Type C to Type C cable and HDMI cable, However As per some of the unboxing videos, there are cables like, Display Port to Display Port, Type C to USB etc.

Even I was sceptical about buying this monitor. But I am happy that I did.

I used to work on multiple monitors but this one looks more cleaner and useful. I would recommend it for the people who do serious software development or have to work with multiple windows at a time.

For Work: It is an expensive one, but it's a kind of experience that you will know when you use it. Don't compare it to dual or triple monitor setup.

For Gaming: this is something I have not tried yet but if you wanna play on this monitor then you need atleast RTX 3080 to drive this many pixels at its full potential of 70hz.

I use my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro with it for my office work and it worked without any issues at 5120x1440@70hz.
Thanks to the usb-c port and inbuilt KVM feature I just have one wire connection to my laptop and that's awesome.

Excellent monitor. Changed the way I work it’s simply amazing. Pictures do not do justice to how big this monitor is. If you are confused about getting a 49’’ monitor , I guess this monitor is a no brainer and is the best value for money. I highly recommend this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as i hoped it would be

First of all, Phillips support sucks. It has been 3 weeks now since i opened a ticket and escalated twice but other than the automated emails "we are processing your request", no one has got back to me yet. The major issues i am having with this monitor are:
1. When i switch from USB-C laptop to DP Desktop, it takes 10-20 seconds for the keyboard and mouse to get connected.
2. When i switch from Laptop to Desktop, the Laptop looses ethernet connection coming through the Type-C port (my ethernet is connected to the monitor). This is painful since all my open connections get disconnected on the laptop. I have installed the realtech ethernet drivers but the issue isint getting resolved.
3. The Webcam dosent work at all with Windows 10. There seems to be no drivers available for this on Phillips India/Aus support site. No matter how much i tried, i couldnt get the webcam to work.

Unfortunately i had to purchase this crappy monitor, but in my defense, this was the only 49inch ultrawide available in India since the samsung, LG and Dell ones have all been out of stock for over 4 months now. When i called LG to inquire, they said that its most likely their 49inch ultrawide would not be coming to India at all due to stock unavailability.
