I've attached these to the computers and home theatre. Accurately measures the energy consumption and predicts the $ cost per year. Very helpful in changing my habits and I'm already saving $100 per year by turning the subwoofer off when not in use!

Another commenter is correct that these only go to 8A instead of 10A, so not suitable for the electric drier, but more than sufficient for a whole home theatre including TV, amplifier, subwoofer, and playstation.

Integration with the iPhone Eve app is wonderful. Has all the data including wattage and cost. Has a historical graph so you can see the usage over the past week. Can turn it on and off remotely using the phone. Very smart and good value for money.

Only complaint is that it's quite large so on a dual-socket it obstructs the second socket and makes the switch difficult to access. A power board has solved this problem for me.

Be careful if you intend to use these device to measure your consumption over time.

You must open the app every 21 (I believe) days to download the measurements; otherwise the data gets discarded.

As of November 2023, the merge function is broken and using it will cause data corruption, leading to the inability to export the measurements.

The device probably works OK, but the app and consequent user support is questionable.

I have now got a few of the Eve products, but this was the first one that started me down that path. The plug is for Australia power sockets. The reason I liked this Smart plug so much is because it seems to be the only one that gives monitoring on the amount of power being used, and if you add the cost from your energy bill per kWh it will tell you projected cost per year and accumulated costs over time. I love this for my main plugs like TV and entertainment system, the Office and computer etc, and I third one controlling my heated towel rail so it isn't on all day and night.

It handles the amperage of the towel rail fine which i was worried about. One of them did have a problem when I connected an an old impact drill/chisel to dig through some sandstone. Something in the drill tripped the device to go into safety mode and shutoff. I think the old drill brushes were shorting a little, but other than that they all work faultlessly.

My two main draw backs for this product is first it is expensive, but then all smart devices seem to cost more than I would like. I like to experiment with tech and stuff like this so I can't complain. Secondly the plus is AU but it is very wide and fairly shallow, so if I plug it into a double socket I can't use the second one, or power board it can use up to 4 plugs around it. My solution is to use an old school double adapter so the plug is set above any others around it. Annoying but not a deal breaker.

Actually its also a bit disappointing the AU version of this doesn't have "Threading" as the Eve Aqua in the garden was too far away for Bluetooth connection and control and one of these could have been used as a relay. I needed to buy an Apple Homepod to fix that, but it does fix other smart control issues I had.

I connected this device to the Eve Application on my iPhone very easily using the QR code. The Eve App seems to feed everything through to Apple Home, so they show up there as well if you use that too. You will need to use the Eve App for fine control as the Apple Home App just turns them on or off. I can use Apple Home to control the devices when I am not home so I guess that's a good enough reason for me.

In summary. Expensive as a plug or power monitor, but add the smart scheduling or control when away and maybe its worth cost in cash and time.

Excellent for logging power usage. That's about all the good things I can say about this device.

Cons:
1. HUGE device! It'll make other adjacent plugs unusable.
2. LAG! It can take up to 5 seconds to turn on! On average it takes 2 ~ 3 seconds to switch on devices.
3. No manual button for on / off. When Wifi connection is unstable, you can't turn on or off your device.
4. Sometimes it refuses to connect. A manual unplug from the wall is required.

Conclusion: It is an expensive power logging device.
For a remote switch, it is unreliable and way TOO SLOW.

Super easy to set up with Siri for HomeKit. I have installed a number of different devices in zHomekit and this with the software is the easiest of any to set up - literally all done in less than a minute. I don’t use the power metering function. For some the limitation of 1700 watts might be important but I am using it for lights etc and this is fine.
Having given it 5 stars, I should point out that of the first two I bought, one was a complete dud. Returned it via the Amazon returns facility and got sent a new one pronto. All good and I have purchased more units since.
