This 5 piece knife set from Joseph Joseph is exquisite, and very high quality. Inside the pack you get the knife block, which is a heavy slab of Beechwood wood, with a rubberised base to avoid slipping when on your work surface. Each knife arrives wrapped individually, with a point guard on each knife tip. The handles are very well balanced and feel great in your hand.
There are 4 knives, plus a pair of scissors supplied, which are a Paring knife, Serrated knife, Santoku knife, and Cleaver. These fit the knife block well, however note that you put the knives in with the handle nearest you and the blade away from you, rather than the usual knife block where the handle is at the top and the blade towards you. They are also colour coordinated with a coloured dot on the handles (although being honest, I don't know why, unless its if you need a replacement?).
Each knife arrives very sharp, so be careful when taking out and using them. The scissors can also be taken apart for easier cleaning, and have an integrated herb shredder which is handy for your cooking and preparation.
Overall a very high quality knife set that has been used extensively over the Christmas period.
