I missed in the item description that a battery was required unless you wanted to keep it permanently plugged into mains power. The batteries that fit this item are very unique and quite expensive. It's my fault this was missed but am still a bit disappointed about this.

The only negative was the company that delivered the mat, I live in a fenced village & the letterboxes are right near the entrance, my parcel & several others were left at the letterboxes without anyone knowing. It was a resident who saw the parcels when collecting his mail & alerted the office who, in turn, contacted the effected residents. Not good.
