Overall, the Mass Effect trilogy is unforgettable journey with some of the best characters you'll ever meet. Bioware went above and beyond with this remaster, with essentially all DLC included and it runs at a perfect 4k/60fps experience on PS5. I'd be remiss not to mention the stellar soundtrack.
Mass Effect 1 - 9/10 - Follow Commander Shephard as they track down a rogue spectre (space cop) involved in an imminent galactic threat. Some argue that ME1 has the best story of the trilogy. The RPG and inventory system aren't the best. The graphics and gameplay systems have been vastly improved since the original. Mass Effect 2 - 10/10 - My personal 2010 GOTY. Follow Commander Shephard as they investigate the disappearance of human colonies while working alongside a questionable organisation. One of, if not the best mission of all time when you travel through the Omega-4 relay and try your luck with the impossible suicide mission. One of, if not the best DLCs ever in Lair of the Shadow Broker. Mass Effect 3 - 9/10 - Follow Commander Shephard as they rally the galaxy together to fight off an overwhelming force against all odds. Some argue that the ending of ME3 ruined the trilogy, I never felt this way and the Extended Cut DLC should alleviate most concerns. One of, if not the funniest/tear jerking DLCs ever in Citadel.
It's a complete remastering of all 3 Mass Effect Games in the Shepherd Trilogy. Gone is the Pinnacle Station DLC from Mass Effect 1 (due to corrupted source code apparently) and the multiplayer from Mass Effect 3 (which to me is a massive plus). Mass Effect 1 also gets a lot of the systems that were introduced in later Mass Effect games as well. Well worth it if you want to replay these games on consoles.
Really great! You can see/feel the advancements between games and you know they're remasteres of older games, but the characters and story are just so fun and engaging that you want to experience it all.
A lot of people hated Andromeda, I picked it up last year and finished it, it really didn’t deserve the hate it got. I loved the first 3 games, my fav being EF1. After playing LE, I was surprised at just how janky ME1 was. Which made my appreciate Andromeda more. I don’t think I could play through these again, the graphics, while I’m sure is a million times better than I actually remember them as, still looks very, very dated. I appreciate the load times are fixed, but my memory of the games were better then what I was experiencing while playing again. The frustrating combat at times, the tediousness. I feel like if you’ve never played them before and you can get past those things, it worth it. But I’m going to leave my memories of the story, graphics and forgotten bad parts in the past and continue to remember it with rose tinted glasses.
