It also includes one 8-way "point of view" Hat Switch, for a high degree of realism. From its life-size structure to the realistic sensations when pushing buttons and using other controls, the f-16c Viper hot as add-on grip has been specially designed to be similar to the flight stick from the real f-16c Viper strike Fighter aircraft - whose outstanding versatility continues to make it a favourite of air forces around the globe, thanks to its adaptability in a wide variety of combat situations. Was für ein Stück Metall! 1kg allein für den Griff, das ist eine Ansage. Von der Haptik könnte man es kaum besser machen, der Griff fühlt sich metallisch kalt und sehr robust an. Die Knöpfe (mehr als genug für jeden Bedarf) haben einen z.T. sehr kräftigen Druckpunkt, auch das zeugt von Qualität. Ich habe den Griff in meinem kombinierten Renn- und Flugsimulator (VR-Only) auf einer Dritthersteller-ForceFeedback-Basis in Betrieb. Der Schaft ist mit 2 Verlängerungsstücken soweit verlängert, dass man den Stick sitzend fast bis zum Bauchnabel ziehen kann - wie in echt. Die Verlängerungen gibt es in verschiedenen Varianten im Aftermarketbereich, inklusive der benötigten Kabelverlängerungen. Beim ForceFeedback (5-8nm) bin ich durch das hohe Gewicht vom Griff in Kombination mit dem langen Hebel an der Grenze des Sinnvollen. Womöglich wäre hier der mit 720g deutlich leichtere Kunststoff-Griff der F18 von Thrustmaster vorteilhafter für das ForceFeedback - aber auf die unerreichte Haptik will ich einfach nicht verzichten.

If you are buying thrustmaster's F18 or F16(A10) stick, you pretty much have the enough money to go for a better experience than the thrustmasters' base can offer.

The stick itself is just flawless, beautiful and awesome.

But if you are going with the base. It's bad. The base has a super strong spring inside that makes your control super hard and not precise. You have to sawp out the spring in order to make it feel smoother and the spring cost $50. the base + $50 spring + time to fix the base = Virpil WarBRD. But Virpil WarBRD is just so much better and literally effortless.

Thrustmaster sticks + Virpil bases = The dream flight simulation experience.
