I use these probably not for their intended use. I have 6 chickens and I was trying to figure out a way to protect their food and water from the TN sun and rain. Viola! These were the answer! I didn't use stakes to keep them down because I need to be able to move them to clean them (chickens are messy!) Instead I put some bricks in them to weigh them down. Not sure how they work for things like dogs, but in addition to keeping the food/water clean and dry, my chickens do shelter in them when it rains and they seem to keep dry.--------------Rebecca L.
