Margaret River is one of the few regions in the country that has persisted with Chenin Blanc, a variety that is now seeing a bit of a resurgence, and with good reason! The 2022 Moss Brothers Moses Rock example is quite deep and flavoursome yet very youthful, with notes of nectarine and gooseberry, savoury textural elements, grapefruit acidity and light phenolic grip to finish.
To us, Farmer's Leap Random Shot Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Padthaway is sitting right in its sweet spot. After a few years in the bottle its elements are in harmony, yet its core of black fruit is still bright and fresh. It’s full-bodied, intense and savoury, with layers of blackberry, plum and redcurrant, fine-grained structural tannins, crisp acidity, touches of warm herbs and cigar box, and balanced chocolatey oak.
