Note

The grinding noise comes from the coils of the springs rubbing inside. To reduce grinding noise, add bearing grease inside on both springs top and bottom

How to lubricate the springs

1. First, release all the tension of the closer.
2. Next unscrew the assembly screw at the bottom.
3. Brush in some wheel bearing grease (I used white lithium grease) in between the spring rings with a small craft brush (or finger or stick, anything really). Avoid using lubricants like WD-40 which actually breaks down any lubricating grease already inside.
4. Insert the spring ends into the top and bottom assemblies and then the other ends into the adjustment disk.
5. Then reassemble the housing putting back in the assembly screw.
6. Install closer back onto the door.
7. Finally, re-tension the adjustment disk in the center.

How to install

Fix the closer vertically to jamb on hingged side of door.
To set tension turn the center of the closer opposite to the arrow.
Place arm into nearet hole to door.
Fix slide plate into position to protect door.

Tension adjustment

Turn the center boss away from the door with the steel bar suppied and screw the arm into the hole nearest the door. To increase tension, repeat the operation one hole at a time. To protect the door from marking .fox the slide plate supplied into position. Once the close has been properly installed at the proper tension, fill open holes with the plugs provid
