2. This remote is an IR remote, line-of-sight required. If you find this remote can only work within a close distance (e.g. <10ft), maybe there have something blocking the signals for your Apple box, such as you put the box in a cabinet or a closet, or behind the TV.

3. For certain APPs on Apple TV (e.g. Zwift) they are designed to ONLY use touch interface to control them, not by buttons. For this reason this remote does not work with these APPs. This is a button remote only, working with the most TV APPs in the traditional way. If a touchpad interface is required, the original Apple remote is the only option.
